KNOWING YOUR TRUE SELF

Knowing the true self is the path home for each of us. The illusion of separation keeps us lost, confused, and in fear.

Once we leave behind these illusions and identifications with the mind, body and emotions, we better know who we are. We are divine infinite pure consciousness and live in oneness with the Divine Source. To know the true self is to improve our knowledge of the body, mind, and soul and our self-realization that we are one with God Source.

If we want to know our true self, we will need to journey inward and experience the nature of our Divine self.

It is done through devotion and pure intention. It is the journey of awakening to who we truly are and learning to let our true selves flow through our life.

You probably noticed that we are continually forming answers to the questions of who we are throughout our lives. We would like to know the correct answer, but our ego has a big part in keeping us in the dark. Most of the time, the answers come from how we want others to perceive us. Sometimes we think our body or mind is who we are and everything outside the body and mind is not part of ‘self.’ It takes inner work and self-realization to accept the vastity of our ‘self.’

I experience my true self when I am in stillness, silence, and solitude, and always find the answers I’m looking for. My mind is quiet, I look deep within, and I allow my feelings to guide me to my ‘inner ‘self.’ As I surrender and am open to the present moment, I let go of old ideas, feelings, and false identities of who I am. My perception of who I am becomes clear and is not driven by my ego or thoughts.

If you practice meditation, you probably experience the nature of the true self. It is a beautiful feeling of oneness, clarity, and pure love.

I also have this feeling when I’m out in nature. I connect with all elements and am aware of the energy that holds us together in the present moment. Through my awareness and my intention of finding my true self, I reach a blissful ‘aha’ moment.

Another way to know our true selves is by cultivating the spiritual energy that resides in our bodies. Many methods, such as Yoga, meditation, or specific exercises, awaken the Prana or Kundalini energy. I learnt to do this via Reiki by clearing energetic blockages in my chakras and becoming a clear channel for spiritual energy to flow through me. Once we are aware of our energy, we can intentionally raise it from the base of the spine to the top of the head, extend it out and connect with the infinite divine consciousness; this triggers the awakening of our true self, our divine nature.

Our true self is eternal, and it contains the whole universe.

Our existence, consciousness, and everything we represent are an expression of the Divine. If we tune in to our inner light, we can see that it is one with the Divine light. If we let go of old perceptions and identities, we realize that we are one with the Divine Source.

And when the time is right, we are led to the path of spiritual awakening, growth, transformation, and knowing our true selves. It is not always easy to let go of the old ways of being and step into new habits that support our awakening. With pure intention, devotion, and spiritual practices, this can happen. We understand better who we are and our divine essence. We know that our true self has always been with us, and we have never been separated from the Divine Source.
